How LeadMeAlone turns public records into responsible sales research
This page documents the source boundaries, confidence labels, verification steps, and claim limits used across the product and field guides.
What sources does LeadMeAlone use?
Territory and business discovery use public OpenStreetMap data and compatible public map services. Place search converts a readable location choice into a map position. Business discovery then requests records near the selected territory. Weather and local time may be shown as environmental context. A digital-presence review may inspect public pages and publicly observable links, markup, contact paths, and technology signals.
Source availability, coverage, freshness, and accuracy vary by country, city, category, and contributor activity. A missing field means that the field was not present in the returned record. It does not establish that the underlying fact is false.
What do verified, inferred, and unknown mean?
| Label | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Verified | A named public source directly exposed the observation at review time. | The map record contained a phone number. |
| Inferred | Observable facts support a plausible opportunity, but another explanation is possible. | No website field plus an active social profile suggests an owned-site opportunity. |
| Unknown | The available public evidence cannot answer the question. | Ad spend, account ownership, conversion rate, or profit. |
How should a missing website be verified?
- Record the exact source observation and date.
- Search the business name and common name variants.
- Search using the phone number and address when appropriate.
- Review linked social profiles and local directory records.
- Check whether the business belongs to a parent brand or another branch.
- If still uncertain, ask the business without stating absence as a fact.
The defensible wording is “the public map record did not include a website, and I could not confirm one in the sources checked.” The claim “this business has no website” requires stronger verification.
What can public advertising signals prove?
A public page can reveal that tag or pixel code appears in delivered content, that a consent interface is present, or that a public transparency library contains creative associated with an advertiser identity. Those observations do not prove active campaigns, account ownership, correct configuration, audience targeting, spend, leads, sales, attribution, or profitability. Performance analysis requires authorized access and business-side outcome data.
How does opportunity scoring work?
Scores organize research signals so users can decide what to review first. They are not credit scores, business valuations, revenue forecasts, or guarantees that a company wants a service. A high score should mean that the current public evidence suggests a clearer fit for review. The underlying evidence and confidence labels remain more important than the number.
What are the geographic and road limitations?
Coverage depends on the available map graph. Drive mode follows returned road geometry and uses direction, access, junction, stop, signal, roundabout, and speed-limit attributes when those attributes exist. Missing or incorrect map data can affect the experience. It is not a navigation, safety, or traffic-law compliance system and should not be used for real-world driving decisions.
How should users contact a business?
Use an appropriate public business contact route, identify yourself, describe the source observation accurately, disclose uncertainty, and ask permission to continue. Do not fabricate personalization, scrape private data, impersonate a platform, publish an unauthorized official-looking website, or send unlawful bulk messages. Local privacy, electronic-marketing, telemarketing, and platform rules differ, and the user is responsible for following the rules that apply.
How often is this methodology reviewed?
The methodology is updated when product behavior, source boundaries, or material claim rules change. The visible review date and structured-data modification date are kept aligned. Individual source records can change between scans, so users should record the observation date and recheck important facts before acting.
If a business owner or reliable source contradicts a record, prefer the better evidence, update the lead, and do not repeat the old claim.
